The Gunners needed to win at the Amex Stadium in order to reclaim the top spot in the rankings, and they did just that with a solid 90 minutes of play.

Arsenal controlled the game save during the opening exchanges. William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes were excellent as usual in the middle of the defense.

After the game, Magalhaes praised the fans on Instagram, describing it as “a massive win in a really difficult stadium.” In response, Havertz referred to him as a “machine.”

Magalhaes had a chance to score in the second minute of action against Brighton. Since the start of the year, he has been playing at an extremely high caliber. His header went just wide of the net.

Though he was not given another big chance to apologize, the Brazilian played a great defense. Throughout the game, the 26-year-old received 70 touches, winning 80% of his duels.

He also completed 42 passes and six clearances. Magalhaes came through with a fantastic block in the final seconds to ensure the side kept another clean sheet.

Arsenal can make an impression when they play Bayern Munich in the Champions League because they presently have one of the greatest defenses in the top five leagues in Europe.

The Emirates Stadium will host the opening leg of the quarterfinal match of the Champions League on Tuesday. Whether they can duplicate the recent scoring form remains to be seen.

The team struggled against Porto in the round of 16. Even though Bayern has a bad league record, it can be harder against them. Magalhaes and Saliba have a significant part to play.
