Arsenal beat Brighton 3-0, which put them back on top of the Premier League table. Both Mikel Arteta and Andy Murray praised Kai Havertz after the game.
Havertz scored Arsenal’s second goal at the Amex on Saturday night. It was his ninth league goal this season, which is more than he ever scored in a single season for his old team, Chelsea.
After the win, Gunners boss Arteta was quick to praise Havertz’s play, saying that “everybody loves him” for his heart and determination.
Arteta said, “He was great today again.” All of his other efforts have been great.
In the last few months, he has helped score more goals than anyone else in the league. That tells you everything you need to know.
“He’s a warrior; he was chasing 70 meters here. He’s a driven player with a big heart.” That’s the reason everyone loves him.
Murray, a tennis star who also loves Hibernian and bleeds Arsenal, wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “How good is @kaihavertz29?” The best forward in the Premier League!
First, the Gunners were ahead by one goal after Bukayo Saka’s chance in the 33rd minute.
Soon after the hour mark, Havertz scored from close range to double Arsenal’s lead. With four minutes left, Leandro Trossard scored a smart chip to make it 3-0, making it a night for his old team, Brighton.
Arsenal is now back on top of the Premier League, ahead of Manchester City, who had won at Crystal Palace earlier in the day.
Next up for Arsenal is a Champions League game against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night. The following Sunday, they will play Aston Villa at home in the league.
