Wayne Rooney, a club legend, chastises a Manchester United player after their draw with Liverpool.
Liverpool was on the verge of losing all three points to Manchester United. But in the final moments of the match, Aaron Wan-Bissaka made a mistake in judgment, which gave the Reds a penalty.
Jurgen Klopp’s team won 2-2 thanks to a goal from Mo Salah after a penalty was awarded. Wayne Rooney, a legend of Manchester United, was not amused by Wan-Bissaka’s error. The former Red Devil had the following to say about it. With thanks to Manchester Evening News
“This scenario doesn’t arise if he continues to walk. However, it’s awful coming from Wan-Bissaka. It’s careless. That kind of grounding puts you at risk of giving away a penalty.
He also said that Joe Gomez was able to go past Bruno Fernandes far too easily. The Portuguese captain could have caught up to the Liverpool defender if he hadn’t run out of gas at the finish.
Wan-Bissaka is going to be quite hard on himself for giving up a penalty in such an important game. The unfortunate thing is that the English defense was playing brilliantly before making that error.
In addition to creating two chances for his team, he aided Kobbie Mainoo in scoring the fantastic goal. He was a pleasure to watch all evening, and for significant portions of the match, he appeared to be Manchester United’s finest defender.
The 26-year-old had a terrible experience. While he will undoubtedly try to improve on it in the future, these errors are not unique to him.
United has suffered three painful losses in their last three games, all of which came in the final minutes. The group needs to improve and start finishing games in the right way.
