The 26-year-old United and Ronaldo, who are very close, have revealed to the world that their idol is currently the best in the world, surpassing Argentina’s Lionel Messi. The reason for this belief is that Ronaldo seems to be getting better every day, as seen by the way he has led Portugal to two victories out of two thus far.  Prior to Manchester United’s April FA Cup semifinal matchup with Tottenham, there was a story circulating. During the interview, Rashford revealed that Ronaldo is the one who inspires him the most and that he consistently makes the most of unbelievable opportunities.

“Is he the best player in the game right now?” he asked. In my opinion, yes. He’s not just keeping it up, but he’s also consistently reaching new heights.It takes years and years of doing the same exercises in the gym every day to reach that level.

The two players haven’t met or faced off yet, but since his arrival at Old Trafford, the veteran has shown the young talent affection and given him advice whenever Rashford needs it.

Given the way the World Cup is going, it’s safe to assume that both Portugal and England will make it to the knockout stages. It would be interesting to see if the two European teams face off against one another later on in the campaign, which will determine how strong their friendship is.
