Once again, Mikel Arteta chose one Arsenal player to praise after their important win at Wolves on Saturday night.
With a great game at Molineux, Arsenal got back to winning ways.
It’s been a tough week for the Gunners since they lost to Aston Villa and Bayern Munich. Man City, on the other hand, was in an FA Cup semi-final yesterday, so Arsenal beat Birmingham 2-0 to move to the top of the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s team earned all three points with goals from Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard, which won a very important win.
Gabriel Jesus held the ball up beautifully in the area, and Trossard scored a great goal right before halftime.
The Belgian shot high and into the top corner, hitting the inside of the post on the way. Odegaard scored the game-winning goal in the 95th minute, after a calm second half.
I was blown away by an Arsenal player against Wolves.
When Arteta talked to the reporters after last night’s win, he gave Trossard a lot of praise for another great game.
“He’s a little magician,” the manager of Arsenal said. “He’s a big threat and can score on any surface. He’s calm and collected, and he can play both forward and backward.”
“It’s great to have him on the team.”
When Trossard didn’t show up in Munich during the week, it was a surprise, and Gabriel Martinelli had a tough night.
Trossard has been a good choice for Arteta and continues to do well in the final third.
When Arsenal beat Wolves, Martin Keown called the £27 million player a “revelation” because his goal helped them get their title hopes back on track.
Stats for Trossard vs. Wolves
This season, Trossard has scored some big goals for Arsenal, and his finish yesterday was no different.
The 29-year-old scored with a shot from the edge of the box that was only worth 0.07 xG.
He played for 72 minutes that night before Martinelli came on to replace him.
Trossard finished 18 of the 24 passes he made against Wolves, including one important pass.
Even though he wasn’t very involved before he was taken off, Trossard made a big play for Arsenal, as he has done many times this season.
