Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot has discussed the changes he made to his training schedule that allow him to consistently give it his all for the Reds.
Dalot was the only player available for selection in every game after joining Man United. Additional training sessions, injury prevention-focused rehabilitation, and one-on-one work with a nutritionist were all part of his meticulous attention to detail.
“I always try to keep my routine since I started playing professional football,” he told us. To perform at my best, I have to be in peak physical and mental condition. Especially this season and last, I’ve been raising my game and training preparation.
“Whether it’s nutrition, sleep, or beats [music] before and after training, this has been my biggest support off the field to be able to perform,” the athlete stated. I’m continuously trying to keep up my routines there so that I’m ready to play.
When games are getting closer, Diogo likes to relax, especially when there’s any downtime in the team hotel. He is able to stay totally focused on the task at hand because of this.
It now functions as a ritual. He really drew me in since I wasn’t a big coffee drinker, but I’ve since started doing that. Just a quick discussion. Sometimes we stay at the hotel too long, so we step out of the room to talk for a little while and try to focus on the game.
“I certainly get prepare for the game by getting massages, stretching, and mobility exercises,” the player said.
