Arsenal officially launch third kit to celebrate ‘retro’ style from the 1980s

Adidas and Arsenal just unveiled their new third kit for the 2023–24 season. It is based on one of The Gunners’ old styles from the 1982–83 season.

Arsenal and Adidas have tried to bring a cult classic fit up to date by giving it a “Mineral Green” shell, blue shoulders, and an off-white crest and sponsor logo. This new version of the design pays tribute to one of the club’s most famous shirts. It does so through a simple approach that delivers a clean-cut look that works for life on the field and in the stands.

Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz are in Arsenal’s movie promoting their 2023–24 third kit.

The newest Nike outfit for Arsenal this season, like most of the other Adidas uniforms this year, was made with HEAT.It is the goal of RDY technology to make players feel at ease while they compete on the biggest stage. The replica kit does, however, now have AEROREADY technology, which uses materials that wick or soak up sweat to keep players dry.

Adidas’ Design Director for Football Apparel, Inigo Turner, said this about the new third kit: “Given the depth of Arsenal’s kit archive, looking to the past is always an interesting place to start when designing something for the fans of today.” There was only one green away shirt from the 1982–1983 season, and this current take on the classic blends fashion and football perfectly.

“Because these worlds keep coming together, we wanted to make a kit that is first and foremost performance-oriented, giving the best to the athlete, while also being a fashion statement that fans are proud to wear to games and when they’re not at the stadium.”
