William Saliba of Arsenal has flaunted his home gym, but ferocious supporters “want him sold” for the poster he has hanging on the wall.
Since his injury in March, the Gunners have struggled in performance, despite the centre-back’s essential role this season.
Saliba built a gym inside his home to assist him stay in shape going forward.
Some think the makeover indicates he is comfortable with the team and will remain there for a long time because his contract expires in the summer of 2024.
Less forgiving admirers, however, have attacked his gym area décor selection.
Saliba uploaded a photo of himself in the gym next to a poster featuring Dennis Rodman, Scottie Pippen, and Michael Jordan, all Chicago Bulls greats.
Fans were incensed, nevertheless, by the picture of Arthur and Tommy Shelby from Peaky Blinders.
“Glad he’s maybe staying but having Peaky Blinders posters on your walls holy cringe,” one commented.
“Love the bloke but Peaky Blinders fetishization is a sackable offense,” another Daily Star reader argued.
Three said, “Get him sold.”
Some were nicer, commenting, “I like that Thomas Shelby is in the background.”
Still, not every fan thought Saliba’s house improvements would lead to a new contract.
Supporter said, “He’s installed a working machine in a shed. I doubt this represents his desire to sign a fresh deal.”
Mikel Arteta’s team has only managed one clean sheet in the eight games Saliba has missed.
Given the presence of Rob Holding and Jakub Kiwior, there’s a potential he won’t play again this season.
