This week, Arsenal star Bukayo Saka scored big with the kids at Edward Betham C Of E Primary School in Greenford, west London.
When the England player went back to his old school, he was a big right away. While Gunner was in school, he got all A’s and became a star player for his club. He has happy memories of that time.
Saka, who impressed the kids and gave them new New Balance clothes for the future, wrote on Twitter, “Special feeling going back to my elementary school yesterday.” I remember being in the same position as all the young kids with big dreams a few years ago. I hope my return will inspire them to think they can do anything!
Not only did New Balance and Bukayo Saka help by giving football shirts to the next generation to wear, but a mural of Saka has also been painted at the school to serve as an example to the students.
Saka, whose family is from Nigeria, has been a shining light for the Gunners ever since he made his start for the north London club. Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, once said this about the player: “He’s very humble and polite, but he also has that character, and on the field he can demand the ball.” At his age, he can do and decide things that aren’t very common.
Peter Mason, the leader of the Ealing Council, put forward Saka for Freedom of the Borough last summer.
Councillor Mason said this about Saka’s success: “Bukayo Saka used to play football on the Brentside Playing Fields and the fields at Greenford High just a few short years ago.”
It makes everyone in Ealing very proud that one of our own played for England at Wembley in Euro 2020. His is a great story of talent and success that can give everyone hope, motivation, and support.
