According to reports, Aaron Wan-Bissaka will say goodbye to the Manchester United supporters at Old Trafford on Wednesday along with teammate Raphael Varane.
Eddie Howe’s Newcastle will play United at home in a crucial Premier League match that will most likely determine who plays in the Europa League.
Erik ten Hag’s team is three points behind the Magpies in sixth place going into the game.
For United supporters, the club formally announced on Tuesday that Raphael Varane will leave at the end of the season after his contract expires.
The Daily Mail’s Chris Wheeler reported that the Frenchman’s terms were decided to be terminated when a deal to extend them on much lower terms could not be reached.
For that reason, Varane is expected to become a free agent in the upcoming weeks.
Anthony Martial, a compatriot citizen whose tenure at United is also coming to an end, will accompany him. Martial’s contract expires in a few weeks, just as Varane’s. Although the Red Devils have the option to retain him for a further year, it is not anticipated that the team will use this option.
Martial and Varane will bid farewell to United supporters on Wednesday at the Theatre of Dreams, but they won’t be the only ones—Wan-Bissaka will also be joining them, according to The Sun.
An image of Wan-Bissaka lifting the Carabao Cup has even been produced on a T-shirt in his honor, according to the publication.
“Wan-Bissaka, 26, still has one year left on his contract, but Manchester United is open to hearing low-ball offers.”
United will most likely have to accept a loss on the player and reduce their demand to about £20 million.
Right-back signed a contract worth approximately £45 million plus £5 million in add-ons in July 2019 after leaving Crystal Palace. Although the Englishman has had a few standout performances while wearing the United shirt, overall, he has not lived up to the money paid to acquire his services.
Diogo Dalot has established himself as the starting full-back this season, and given the Reds’ ongoing links to players like Jeremie Frimpong and others, Wan-Bissaka may not have much room at the team going forward.
Wan-Bissaka will have no shortage of admirers if The Sun is to be believed, as the full-back is expected to be leaving. It has been reported that he is being pursued by West Ham, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Crystal Palace, his previous employers.
