After losing out on the Premier League title on the last day of the season, KAI HAVERTZ sobbed.

The German made sure Arsenal fulfilled their half of the agreement by winning thrillingly late against Everton.

However, Manchester City’s 3-1 victory over West Ham at home meant that Pep Guardiola’s team had won four straight titles.

And as their second-place finish was confirmed, it was evident how devastated Arsenal was.

Havertz stumbled badly on the Emirates pitch, falling on his haunches and unable to control the outburst.

After regaining his composure, the forward spoke with TNT Sports and expressed his suffering.

Havertz remarked, “What am I to do? I am sad for all of us Arsenal supporters. Despite our best efforts, it was insufficient.

“I think we deserved more right now, but maybe in two or three months we can look back and say it was a fantastic fight.

“We go again the next year, but in the end it was not enough.

“We once again displayed outstanding spirit; they made things difficult for us.

“They have been playing with time since the first minute; they take time for every throw and ball.

“In my view, football can be unfair at times, but we have to acknowledge that the sport is challenging.

“Hopefully, we can return the following year and fulfill the needs and goals of the Arsenal supporters.”

“It is difficult and extremely frustrating. We will be a stronger team and play our hardest next year.”

Many supporters and condolences were left for the former Chelsea player by fans.

On the last day of the season, Phil Foden’s goal for City after just 79 seconds gave Arsenal a terrible start.

Before Declan Rice unintentionally headed Gueye’s set-piece past the stranded David Raya, he made it 2-0.

Tomiyasu and Havertz’s goals ensured Arsenal at least went out with a win – with extra false hope around the Emirates as a rumour went round that West Ham had equalised.

But Rodri capped off a 3-1 home win at the Etihad as City finished two points ahead of Arsenal.
