‘BRUTALLY HONEST’: Ally McCoist names two strikers Arsenal are more likely to sign than Viktor Gyokeres

Regarding the player Arsenal will pursue to lead the line during the summer transfer window, Ally McCoist has given a “brutally honest” assessment.

Even though Arsenal defeated Everton 2-1 at the Emirates on Sunday, their Premier League journey came to an unfortunate end.

In the end, Manchester City emerged victorious, easily defeating West Ham United 3-1 to capture the title and setting a new record in English football.

Planning will now start for the rapidly approaching summer transfer window, and acquiring a striker may be the main priority.

Nevertheless, McCoist has just identified two strikers who have a higher chance of joining the North Londoners than Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting.

Ivan Toney and Alexander Isak are more likely to sign with Arsenal, according to Ally McCoist.

During his appearance on talkSPORT’s Monday morning broadcast at 8:15 a.m., McCoist acknowledged that he thinks Arsenal will choose Alexander Isak or Ivan Toney over Gyokeres as the finished product.

“I’ll be brutally truthful. I believe you are observing individuals such as Toney and Isak. Would they accept the risk? The 61-year-old stated, “I believe they will likely choose a completed product, a Toney or an Isak.

Gyokeres, who had an incredible first season for the Portuguese team, has been strongly linked to a move to North London.

The 25-year-old has scored an incredible 43 goals in 49 games while dishing out 15 assists, and Sporting is reportedly asking for over £68 million.

Arsenal should target who

Each of the three has a unique set of hazards.

Given that Toney has clearly struggled to reach the same heights and has rarely played this season due to his ban, maybe Arsenal should hold off on signing him.

Given the money they would have to spend, Gyokeres is an unproven player in the Premier League.

Then there is Isak, who is the clear top target but would cost more than £100 million, so that fee carries a very high risk.

Arsenal should make a major move for Isak if they can afford him, but it appears they’ll be looking for a less expensive option, like Joshua Zirkzee or Benjamin Sesko.
