WARMING STORY: Mikel Arteta says his family and dogs helped him in his first full season at Arsenal

The Arsenal boss thanks his family for all of their help throughout his incredible first season in charge.

Mikel Arteta has expressed gratitude to his family for their unfailing support during his amazing first season as manager of Arsenal.

In December 2019, Unai Emery was replaced as head coach at Arsenal, and at the conclusion of the season, he had led the team to the FA Cup final.

Concerns have persisted with the coronavirus outbreak and the ensuing adjustments to Arteta’s fixture programme. He has talked of how his family has supported him during stressful periods at work.

With my wife, in particular, I could not have wished for anything finer, hence I consider myself very fortunate.

“She knows everything that happens, every second; the love, support, and excitement they can generate at home following a victory or defeat are very different emotions.”

I find the same environment there every time. There are three sons and two pets in my house. They energise and love me in an unfathomable way. Since I gave them something back, they are now inquiring as to what I need. I can not wait to let them loose on me come summertime.

My wife and the three children and I live in a bubble. My system goes into shutdown mode and I get the emotional experiences I require on a regular basis while I am in that cocoon.

I add them in the morning first thing.“ Even leaving my house, I have to watch them. I begin each and every day exactly like that. It always gets off on a good note, which gives me the assurance to take on any obstacle that comes up.

As things begin to return to normal in England, Arteta expresses his eagerness to be reunited with family members he has not seen in over a year, ever since the outbreak of the pandemic.

“I have not seen my cherished mother, father, or sister in over a year.” Just as much as I do, so do my peers. It is necessary for me to grin, laugh, and take pleasure in every moment.
