VACATION TIME: Arsenal star Ben White stocks up on footballers’ favourite nicotine pouches and cigars as he sips white wine in Ibiza with wife Milly while his team-mates play at the Euros

While his former England teammates are in Germany for Euro 2024, Ben White has been photographed enjoying a vacation with his family and is seen smoking two cigars and nicotine sachets.

If the Arsenal defender had been available, he would have most certainly been included in the final squad, but Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate disclosed in March that the 26-year-old has made the decision to not be selected.

Rather than staying home to watch the Euros, White and his parents, along with his wife Milly, are travelling to Ibiza.

White has since been pictured stockpiling Pablo nicotine sachets.

Nicotine pouches are frequently mistaken for Snus, which is presently illegal for sale in the UK and is frequently obtained from outside.

Users apply snus, a wet nicotine substance made of tobacco, between their upper lip and gum line.

White was spotted with nicotine patches, which are available for purchase lawfully in the UK and do not include tobacco.

White was also observed carrying two cigars while strolling around the streets of Ibiza with his family; he was not photographed utilising the product.

He was pictured sipping white wine on the Spanish island and conversing with his family in other photos.

According to a May research commissioned by the Professional Footballers’ Association, one in five elite players used nicotine pouches, snus, or both.

The study collected data from 51 players in the Women’s Super League and 628 male players in the Premier League and English Football League. The ‘first-of-its-kind’ study’s findings showed a significant number of players were using the drug.

The use of both substances has raised concerns because it has been related to a number of health problems. According to the report, users may experience cardiovascular and oral health problems, nicotine dependency, and “an increased risk of oesophagus and pancreatic cancer compared to non-smokers.”

Professional athletes, such as Jamie Vardy of Leicester City, have also been seen in photos holding nicotine pouches in the past. In 2016, he was spotted in Chantilly, France, heading towards England training while holding a Red Bull and a tub of what looked to be chewing tobacco.

In his autobiography, Vardy acknowledged using snus to help him unwind.

White’s trip to Ibiza coincides with his teammates’ 1-0 victory against Serbia in Sunday’s opening round of Euro 2024.

The Three Lions played a lacklustre game, with Serbia applying increasing pressure in a nervous second half for Southgate’s team. Jude Bellingham scored the game’s lone goal.

White, though, is taking advantage of his free time before rejoining Arsenal for preseason training in a few weeks.

Since the end of the domestic season, his wife Milly has been posting pictures of the two of them on vacation to her social media sites.

In a picture uploaded on Milly’s Instagram with the comment, “Life,” and a blue love emoji, White is seen sipping a cold beverage while taking in his surroundings. He is dressed in black and blue.

As Milly snaps the picture, she is leaning her legs on her partner while the defender is seated at a table behind an umbrella.

The image was released on the same day that the final England squad for the Euros was announced.

When asked if Southgate had spoken with White before selecting his team, he said, “No.” He is not available to us as far as I know.

White, who has received four caps for his nation, told Southgate in March that he does not now want to play for the Three Lions, according to Arsenal sporting director Edu.

Declan Rice, an England midfielder, had stated in March that he would meet with White when he returned to Arsenal, hoping that his teammate would finally consent to ending his banishment.

All I can say is that it is Ben’s life,’ he murmured. Ben makes the choice. We are unable to disagree with him or his goals. It goes without saying that individuals will always write and express their thoughts.

“But ultimately, his thoughts are the only things that count, and right now, it is clear that he does not want to play for England.”

Rumour has it that on their trip to Qatar, Steve Holland made fun of White’s enthusiasm for football, which caused a schism.

The assistant to Southgate reportedly questioned Kyle Walker about Manchester City’s results from the previous campaign before asking White the same question about Arsenal.

Holland added that White’s reported admission that he did not know the answer was due to his lack of enthusiasm for football.

It is reported that the discussion took place in front of other squad members.
