If Ian Tommy moves to the Emirates this summer, he will make an instant best buddy in the Arsenal locker room.
This is because Toney and Declan Rice are so close that if the midfielder had to choose one England player to spend a year with on a desert island, he would pick Toney over the other twenty-four!
That very topic was posed to Gunners player Rice while he was seated next to long-term Arsenal target Toney on the German FA show Lions’ Den.
Rice, the midfield player, retorted, “The man next to me has a simple response.
We share similar interests, like the same music, and are on the same wavelength. Our interests in pastimes are similar. We simply click so well together, so Ivan it is.
The 28-year-old Toney continued, “I do not think we would be worried about being stuck, we would just catch (have) jokes.” Toney is anticipated to depart Brentford this summer.
Since September 2022, when Toney received his first call-up to the Three Lions, the unlikely boys have become great friends.
Because of their on-field interactions during their Premier League matches, they actually knew they would get along before then.
“When I was at West Ham, he used to banter me on the pitch all the time,” Rice clarified.
