BLOCKBUSTER VERSION: Arsenal could sign Victor Osimhen for a bargain £42m as he looks to move to PL to fulfill his dream

It has been suggested by the Italian outlet Calciomercato that Arsenal can sign Napoli star Victor Osimhen in a cheap deal this summer.

The North London team is rumoured to be emphasising bolstering their front line in preparation for the upcoming campaign by bringing in a fresh, capable goal scorer. It appeared that Benjamin Sesko was their top aim, and rumours even circulated that they had discussions about a possible agreement with the player’s representation.

But the Slovenian has made the decision to stay at RB Leipzig, so the Gunners will have to look at other options. Osimhen’s transfer to the Emirates Stadium has been speculated about for a few months, and they may now try to sign him this summer.

Osimhen has a £127 million release clause in his current contract, according to a Calciomercato report. However, no team is willing to pay that much to sign Osimhen, hence the player does not currently have a firm offer.

According to the source, Napoli has now made the decision to reduce their asking price and is willing to take a payment of about £85 million. In the event that Arsenal makes a play for the Nigerian in the upcoming weeks, they will be able to sign him for £42 million less.

Arsenal to Osimhen

According to the Italian newspaper, Osimhen is open to joining the Premier League this summer; maybe, the Gunners can convince him to do so.

Even with the Azzurri’s decision to drop their asking price, Arsenal still has to pay a hefty sum—roughly £85 million. Mikel Arteta’s team is unlikely to be able to buy him for that kind of money because the Premier League club’s spending binge has been curtailed by the PSR regulation.

Over the past few years, the Nigerian striker has demonstrated his exceptional talent in the Italian top division. He works hard even when he does not have the ball since he is swift, powerful, adept in the air, and effective at closing out opportunities.

He would therefore be a huge coup for Arsenal if they were to acquire him because he has the qualities needed to succeed in the Premier League. It will be intriguing to see, though, if the North London team decides to formally express their interest in signing him.
