The defender also came dangerously close to opening his account for his country when he had a shot blocked that appeared to be heading into the Chilean net.
Because Argentina has already advanced to the Copa America quarterfinals, the 26-year-old may get a rest in the next game, but he will surely be confident that he will continue to be an important member of the defence once the elimination stage arrives.
The 19-year-old United player Alejandro Garnacho hasn’t looked good so far in the campaign. The young player will be looking to play against Peru in the competition final in hopes of getting his big break.
