Trossard could be in serious danger of losing his starting spot for Belgium’s last-16 clash with France. Reported Arsenal target Johan Bakayoko is in the squad and threatening to take his place, and his performances have not been up to his usual standard.

The Arsenal player has begun on the wings, and even under Mikel Arteta, some of his best performances have come when starting centrally. His effort against Ukraine came off the right in a rather unusual position.

Although Trossard’s performance with Belgium may worry Arteta, he can continue to demonstrate why he has been one of the best value-for-money acquisitions for the Spaniard if he can find his best form with Arsenal the next season.
