Lee Dixon and England fans were stunned when a Slovakian star didn’t get a second yellow card.
Their fans booed them off at halftime because they were behind Slovakia in their last-16 match.
Fans were furious when a Slovakian player who fouled Kobbie Mainoo didn’t get a second yellow card.
The English star was tackled by Juraj Kucka, a 19-year-old playmaker for Slovakia.
In order to get us back into the game, Gary Neville told manager Gareth Southgate that THREE SUBSTITUTIONS had to be made.
When England had another chance to take the lead after the break, Phil Foden’s equaliser was called out for offside.
There were five yellow cards given out by referee Halil Muler in the first half. Four of them were given out in the first 20 minutes.
One of them was Juraj Kucka from Slovakia.
Everyone thought, though, that the 37-year-old Slovan Bratislava defender would be sent off just before the hour mark.
Kobbie Mainoo tried to rush into the area, but was cut down just outside the box as he got past the veteran.
Still, Muler chose to keep his cool and let the ace stay on the game, even though he had already given the free kick.
And that choice made England fans very angry, including Dixon, a former full-back for the Three Lions.
It was the former Arsenal player calling the game for ITV. He asked, “How is that not a yellow?”
Fans also went to the X to show their anger. One wrote, “By the way, that should be a red card.” “Mainoo broke into the box, and he was already booked.”
Someone else wrote, “Mainoo got a yellow card for a foul in the first three minutes.”
Kucka has made three since getting a yellow card, and he still doesn’t have a second one. Terrible refereeing.
“Kucka has already done at least three fouls since he was booked, one from behind on Mainoo during an offensive play,” said a third.
