Following a string of triumphant Brand House openings that earlier in 2023 included Westfield Stratford, Battersea Power Station, and Liverpool ONE, the Oxford Street location is the most recent. Nicole Holliday, a TV host and Arsenal fan, conducted a Q&A session with Nketiah, who grew up playing football in London, during the store launch event.
They talked about what it takes to be a professional athlete in London as well as his advice to other aspiring athletes on their journey to competition. This resonated with many of the UA Next Athletes present, many of whom want to play Premier League football.
“Working with Under Armour, a company that has a history of collaborating with great athletes and who also shares the same challenger mentality as me, is really exciting,” Eddie Nketiah stated. I appreciate what the company is doing to support young athletes in reaching their full potential through the UA Next London programme, and I look forward to contributing as a Londoner who has firsthand knowledge with what it takes to succeed in club football.
“I always train like a beast at Arsenal—I’ll never moan and complain,” Eddie Nketiah said in an interview.
According to Under Armour’s Managing Director for EMEA, Kara Trent, Eddie is a driven and industrious young athlete who never stops pushing himself. He is the ideal complement to our expanding group of football athletes and will serve as an excellent role model for the UA Next initiative as we seek to motivate and interact with young team sports athletes in London.
The design of the Oxford Street store was influenced by the City of London and the well-known London Tube. Locally produced black and white hand-crafted tiles cover the space’s existing structural elements; the Under Armour name is applied to represent the company’s tight ties to both London and its athletes.
