Following his £21 million signing on Thursday night, Brazilian sensation Savinho promised to unravel the mystery surrounding Manchester City’s right wing.
The attacker, who was called up to Brazil’s Copa America team due to his outstanding performance in Girona’s surprise La Liga title run, joined the Premier League champions from sister club Troyes in a transfer that could potentially cost £32 million. 
Midway through the previous season, City identified the 20-year-old as a target and began monitoring his progress in anticipation of sending him on their US trip to wow Pep Guardiola.
However, Savinho’s later Girona performances demonstrated that he may be a part of Guardiola’s team this season. After the Copa America, he is currently on vacation and should be back with the team the following month.
The transfer market for City has been quiet this summer, and any new arrivals may be contingent upon veteran players departing the Etihad Stadium.

The 20-year-old, who just represented Brazil at the Copa America, had an amazing La Liga season. When Jeremy Doku, Phil Foden, and Bernardo Silva were all performing well last season despite being believed to be more suited elsewhere, Savinho’s arrival enhances Guardiola’s attacking balance. I can play inside, on the left, and on the right, but playing the right wing is my favorite position,’ he said.
Savinho is one of Brazil’s emerging stars after breaking into the national team earlier in the year.
Savinho will wear the No.26 shirt at the club previously donned by former star Riyad Mahrez.
Savinho had 41 appearances for Girona during the previous season, contributing 10 assists and 11 goals.

With 11 goals and 10 assists, the attacking pro had an incredible season in Spain with City’s sister club Girona, helping them earn a Champions League spot for the first time. 
Next season, Savinho will don the No. 26 shirt for City, which was once owned by former champion Riyad Mahrez but has remained empty since his move to Saudi Arabia.
The Brazilian chose the number because Mahrez was one of his favorite players as a child, winning five Premier League titles, one Champions League, and other significant awards at that time.
