GOLDEN TALENT: Arsenal record breaker tells how he was able to land more minutes after seizing Man Utd chance

Following the start of their friendly triumph over Manchester United, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has directed teenager Ethan Nwaneri to keep showing “ambition, determination, and quality” to earn extra minutes for the Gunners.

Before Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand was replaced, the 17-year-old phenom showed promise during the first half of the 2-1 Los Angeles victory. Arteta is assessing his team right now in getting ready for the next Premier League season.

One of the most exciting players coming out of the club’s academy in recent seasons is Nwaneri; major achievements are expected of him. He only made one appearance, joining Arsenal in the 77th minute of their 6-0 triumph over West Ham in February of last season. He will be aiming to carry on his achievements in this campaign.

He has already set a new record at Arsenal by becoming the youngest player to appear in the Premier League at the age of 15 and 181 days when he came off the bench against Brentford during the 2022-23 season.

Nwaneri, who joined the club at the age of nine, has showcased his exceptional finishing skills in the junior teams, scoring ten goals in the Premier League 2 last season.

Arteta expressed satisfaction with Nwaneri’s performance against United and hinted that she could potentially receive additional playing time in the future if she maintained her current level of performance. He also hinted that he may be involved in the upcoming match against Liverpool next week.

“The players are always in control, so demonstrate your capabilities.” Demonstrate that ambition, determination, and quality, and things will unfold organically. He will be training with us again tomorrow, and if he continues to perform at this level, he will undoubtedly be given some minutes on Wednesday.

Nwaneri’s first-half performance was characterised by an abundance of energy, which was rounded off by an assist to Jesus, who was able to tap in to level the score.

However, he was not the only youngster who caught the eye. Ayden Heaven, a 17-year-old defender, turned in a superb defensive display, earning praise from Arteta, despite an early mistake that allowed Rasmus Hojlund to score the opener.

at the age of seventeen, I am uncertain as to how many athletes are capable of accomplishing that on a stage of this magnitude. “He has lost a duel against one of the strongest and fastest players in the world; it is possible,” he stated.

“However, his subsequent response, composure, quality, and body language were all remarkable.” I am exceedingly pleased with him.

Arsenal will now prepare for their Premier League debut against Wolves at home on August 17, following friendlies against Liverpool, Bayer Leverkusen, and Lyon. Gabriel Martinelli scored the winning goal for Arsenal.
