Andre Onana’s attempts to play mind games made fans laugh out loud, and one Arsenal star even told him to shut up.
United lost to Arsenal 2-1 in Los Angeles in their first game of their trip to the United States.
Andre Onana did everything he could to get inside Fabio Vieira’s head.
What he did didn’t have the effect he wanted on the Arsenal star in the shootout.
Onana tried the same thing with Gabriel Magalhaes.
The Brazilian defender then screamed at the goalie after scoring.
Rasmus Hojlund gave them the lead, but he left the game quickly because he was hurt.
Gabriel Jesus tied the game for Arsenal, and with ten minutes left, Gabriel Martinelli won it for them.
Even though United lost, boss Erik ten Hag was pleased with how his team played.
The only good thing about the loss was that they won the penalty shootout at the end of the game 4–3.
Goalie Onana of the Red Devils was seen doing everything he could to keep Arsenal’s Fabio Vieira and a few of his teammates from scoring.
The Cameroon star took a step to the right and pointed to the big empty space to his left, almost daring the Portuguese star to shoot there.
Against Arsenal, Onana was one of United’s best players. He kept throwing his arms in that way as Vieria walked forward to take his kick.
But the United goalkeeper’s pranks didn’t work because he dove in the direction he was pointing, and the midfielder scored in the corner of the net.
Soon, videos of Onana were shared on social media, which got her fans talking right away.
One person wrote, “Onana is a likeable person.” I’m not even joking.
Someone else said, “The player could also read minds.” “I love it.”
“He will do great in comedy,” said a third.
One fan called him a “funny guy,” and another said he was “too funny.”
“That’s a clown move,” said a sixth.
“Onana played too much FIFA,” said a seventh.
However, that wasn’t the only thing Onana tried.
Before Gabriel Magalhaes walked forward to take Arsenal’s last kick, he stopped Kai Havertz’s kick, which put United ahead.
It was funny when Onana tried to tell the defender where in the goal he should shoot again, but he went the wrong way because he was moving in the direction his opponent had pointed.
Gabriel then picked up the ball and put his finger to his lips to make his opponent quiet.
Lucky for United, Jadon Sancho scored the last shot, and they went on to win the shootout.
