STAR BOY: Bukayo Saka has been nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award for the 2023/24 season, as he looks to retain his trophy

It has been suggested that Bukayo Saka should win the PFA Young Player of the Year award again in 2023–24. He wants to keep the prize.

This season, the England international won the prestigious award, and our winger is one of six players in the running for it. The prize is chosen by the players’ peers.

After scoring 20 goals in all competitions, which was his best season ever, he is back in the game. He is the first player since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in 2019/20 to reach that number of goals, and the first Englishman since Theo Walcott seven years ago. He was also the youngest player to do so since Martin Hayes in 1986/87, at 22 years and 242 days old.

Bukayo also set up 14 goals for his teammates during the season. He scored 50 goals and set up 50 others for us and became captain of the team for the first time.

Cole Palmer, his England teammate, scored 22 Premier League goals and set up 11 others for Chelsea, which was more than any other player in the league. Kobbie Mainoo, of Manchester United, had a breakthrough season that ended with him scoring the game-winning goal in the FA Cup final.

Alejandro Garnacho, who plays with Mainoo, and Joao Pedro, who plays for Brighton and Hove Albion, are both in the running because they have scored a lot of goals in all competitions. Michael Olise is also in the running because he scored 10 goals and set up six others in just 19 games for the Eagles before leaving for Bayern Munich.
