Luka Modric got special Nike boots to celebrate winning the Ballon d’Or on Monday.  

He shared a picture of his brand-new boots on Instagram. For Real Madrid, he sets up plays. 

The Croatian player Modric’s club also shared a video of him getting ready for his big night. 

The man, 33 years old, showed off his Nike boots and wrote, “A beautiful year.” One of a kind prize. Thank you very much to everyone at @nikefootball. 

The Ballon d’Or winner was thrilled to receive the honour, and he hopes to do even better with Real Madrid. 

Modric said, “It’s hard to find the words to say how I feel.” I’m glad everyone saw my trip and liked it. “What a great night to be one of the players who won this prize!” I thought as I tried not to cry.

According to Marca, Modric told his rivals, “[Antoine] Griezmann and [Kylian] Mbappe have congratulated me, it’s a dream year.” What do you know? The World Club Cup is the first step towards what I want for my team.  

Modric told the press, “I think the last time I won The Best, I promised to change all of my awards for the World Cup, but I didn’t.” “This World Cup win is truly amazing for a small country like Croatia.”

“But I said I’d give up everything for the World Cup.” Things didn’t have to go that way, and I’m glad I won at least this prize. 

There was a picture of the Real Madrid team with the Ballon d’Or on the back page of AS. Modric gave the ball to his teammates. 

It was last year that the player who used to play for Tottenham won the Champions League with Real Madrid. He also helped Croatia finish second at the World Cup. 

For the first time in more than ten years, a player other than Ronaldo or Messi won the award. 

On Thursday, Chile’s team plays Melilla in the Copa del Rey.
