For the first time, Phil Foden has been voted PFA Men’s Players’ Player of the Year by his fellow players.
The Manchester City player finished the Premier League season with 19 goals and 8 assists as his team won the championship for the fourth time in a row.
“Winning this is a truly unique experience for which I am incredibly thankful and proud,” Foden remarked. It means the world to be acknowledged by other professionals in this manner.
“Everyone at Man City had another incredible season last year, but right now we’re all focused on trying to win more this season,” he continued.
Foden, who has won the young players’ edition twice, takes over the award from Erling Haaland, a teammate who was also nominated for the previous season’s achievements.
