Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo launched his personal YouTube channel and set a record for receiving the Golden Play Button with more than 1 million followers the fastest in history.

“Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, the world’s most followed person on social media, will launch his own YouTube channel called ‘UR Cristiano’ on August 21 to engage with his global fans,” Ronaldo announced to fans when he first joined the world’s largest video sharing platform.

In just over an hour, Ronaldo ‘s channel surpassed 1 million subscribers, and this number quickly increased to more than 3 million followers as of 11:00 p.m. on August 21.

The number of followers is expected to continue to increase to a record level in the next few hours when statistics show that every 10 minutes Ronaldo’s channel has more than 100,000 new subscribers.

According to Pubity Sport , Ronaldo’s YouTube channel has set a record for receiving the fastest golden button in history, the symbol for a channel reaching more than 1 million followers in just about 1 hour. 

The former Real Madrid and Man Utd star said he will use a channel called “UR Cristiano” to engage more deeply with global football fans.

Ronaldo also promised to share unknown things about himself on his personal YouTube channel with fans, and the channel will delve into topics other than the 39-year-old striker’s iconic football career.

As part of the channel, Ronaldo will interview a series of guests on a variety of topics, although the identities of these guests have not yet been announced.

“I am so excited to make this project a reality. I have had this idea for a long time but we finally have the opportunity to make it happen.

I have always enjoyed having a close relationship with my fans on social media and my YouTube channel will give me a bigger platform to do so and they will learn more about me, my family and my views on various topics.

I’m looking forward to sharing conversations with guests and I’m sure it will surprise everyone!”, Ronaldo expressed when launching his personal YouTube channel.

Ronaldo has posted 18 videos on his channel, including one that shows the Portuguese legend reacting to seeing his best goals in Europe.

Another clip is titled “This is how I overcome adversity”, while a separate video shows Ronaldo taking part in a free kick with his son, Cristiano Jr.

In addition to his YouTube channel, Ronaldo has 633 million followers on Instagram, 170 million on Facebook and 112 million on X (Twitter). With a large number of fans, Ronaldo’s YouTube channel soon reached the diamond button (10 million subscribers) on the morning of August 22.
