Eddie Nketiah’s future has been the subject of much attention in the British press this summer. Arsenal and the English striker have agreed to part ways early because it is good for both parties.

However, Nketiah is still unable to leave the Emirates with the transfer window just days away. Nketiah had initially agreed to join Marseille but the French club backed out after several rounds of negotiations and failed to agree a transfer fee with Arsenal.

Marseille are unwilling to pay more than £25m for Nketiah while  the Gunners want £30m . After the deal to Marseille fell through, Nketiah has attracted interest from Nottingham and Crystal Palace.

Both clubs are willing to pay £30m for the England striker, with Nottingham making the first bid to Arsenal but Nketiah has rejected a move to the City Ground.

According to The Athletic, Crystal Palace came in later but have already received the nod for Nketiah. The south London team sent Arsenal an offer worth £25m plus £5m in add-ons.

The Gunners are expected to agree to release Nketiah to prepare for the arrival of new signing Mikel Merino from Sociedad. As for Nketiah, he is about to end his 9-year association with Arsenal after joining the academy in 2015.

In total, he has scored 38 goals in 168 appearances for the first team in all competitions. Under Arteta, Nketiah was used at times when Gabriel Jesus was injured, but the Englishman failed to become a star.

In addition to Nketiah, Arsenal also agreed to let midfielder Fabio Vieira return to his former club Porto on loan. However, the Portuguese club has no obligation to buy him outright.
