The 82-cap England player, formerly of Chelsea, was told he had no future at Stamford Bridge after Enzo Maresca cut him from the team.

The transfer window closed at 11 p.m. on Friday, but clubs that had deal papers turned in on time can still send them in to finish the deals.

It was once said that Sterling, who is 29 years old, could replace Jadon Sancho at Manchester United, but the deal fell through.

Moving to the Emirates will make it more likely for Sterling to play this season.

Sterling has had a mostly good run in the Premier League.

He has won four league wins and one FA Cup with Manchester City.

People with knowledge say that Jadon Sancho will be moving from Manchester United to Chelsea on loan with an option to buy, among other moves.

The Blues were already in a bad mood on deadline day when they found out that Al-Ahli was getting close to their two top striker targets, Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen.

English forward Toney has gotten attention from Premier League teams, like Chelsea, ahead of a possible move. This season, he has not been on a Bees gameday team.

In a club release, Thomas Frank, the head coach of Brentford, announced the move and said, “I’m happy he has a chance to try something new in his life and career.”
