‘Huge confidence’ – Arsenal get big boost from Bukayo Saka for Tottenham North London Derby as best-case scenario emerges

The manager of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta, must have been very pleased with what he saw from Bukayo Saka in their Nations League game against Finland. Three days after starting all 90 minutes in England’s 2-0 win over Ireland, Saka was picked again by Lee Carsley for the starting XI.

Also, Declan Rice got another start after scoring and setting up a goal for his country over the weekend. Angel Gomes played with him in midfield during this game, and Rice played all 90 minutes again. This won’t bother Arteta too much, though, since he is suspended for this weekend’s North London Derby against Tottenham.

On Tuesday night, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber also played, for Germany and the Netherlands, respectively. The two teams tied 2-2. As for England, they won again 2-0 thanks to a goal from Harry Kane after a quiet first 45 minutes.

Kane scored two goals on his 100th appearance for England. In the 66th minute, Noni Madueke came on for Saka, who had a pretty quiet game by his standards. That being said, FotMob says Saka had four shots, one of which hit the goal, and he also made one big chance. He turned three times too.

The fact that Arteta wasn’t hit once is a big plus because it makes it even less likely that he will get hurt. It’s possible that Saka being taken off with just under 30 minutes to play is the best thing that could happen. With all the news about injuries the Gunners have been getting over the last two weeks, Saka staying healthy will be very helpful. Before the break, Riccardo Calafiori got hurt while playing for Italy against France. He had to go back to London Colney early because of the injury.

A few days later, Martin Odegaard, the club captain, hurt his ankle while playing for Norway against Austria in the Nations League. Concerns were already high when Odegaard was seen getting on a plane to go back to England on crutches. Now, reports say he may not be back for at least three weeks.

Not only will the 25-year-old miss the game against Tottenham on Sunday, but he will also miss the huge Premier League title game after that against Manchester City. The Gunners will also have to play their first Champions League game without Odegaard on Thursday, September 19, against Atalanta.
