GUNNER FOREVER: Mikel Arteta signs three-year deal with Arsenal amid rumours he will join Barcelona boost ahead of north London derby

We’re happy to say that Mikel Arteta has signed a new, long-term deal with the club.

Mikel has been a key part of putting us back at the top of English and European football since he joined us in December 2019. He has also helped bring the team, the club, and our fans closer together.

The team made sure the title race went all the way to the last day of the season by finishing second in the Premier League for the second year in a row. Mikel won his second FA Community Shield.

We set many club records last season, including the most wins in the Premier League (28), the most goals scored in the Premier League (91), and the highest win rate (67.3%) for any season in our history. Mikel was named seven times for Premier League Manager of the Month. In February 2024, he won it for the seventh time in his career.

After seven years, we qualified for the Champions League for the second year in a row. We did all of this with the third-youngest team in the Premier League.

Josh Kroenke, our co-chair, said, “We’re thrilled to have extended Mikel’s contract.”

“Mikel is a dynamic and passionate manager who is always looking for ways to do things better.” He really gets what Arsenal stands for, and since becoming Head Coach in December 2019, he has taken the team to a new level in a very Arsenal way.

“There is a lot of team spirit at the club. We believe in what we do and have strong relationships with each other, so we’re excited and confident as we keep working towards our goal of winning together.”

“We are very pleased that Mikel has agreed to a new long-term deal,” Edu, the sporting director, said. At the club, everyone is happy and proud of this moment. It’s also a big part of what we’re all working towards.

“From the first day he joined us, Mikkel has shown what a great player and person he is. Not just as a football manager.” This is something we really believe in, and we want to reach our goal as a team. The new deal with Mikel gives us security and a clear path to follow as we strive to reach new heights.

“I feel very proud and excited, and I can’t wait for what comes next,” Mikel said. Today I’m proud of where I am and how well I get along with everyone at the club.

“Every day I go to work with such nice people and so much drive. I feel very lucky.” I want to do a lot more than what we’ve already done together because I feel fully motivated, pushed, and backed up.

“We are all excited about the next few years, including the players and everyone else at the club. Our fans have changed the club and the team emotionally.” People who helped us have changed, and we are now different. You can tell we’re not the same, and I think that’s because of them. We’re excited to keep going on this journey together.
