Pedro Rocha will give the Copa to President Florentino Perez in Valdebebas. Soon after, they will start working to get their next long-term goals, with Florian Wirtz being their top priority.

To be clear, it’s not likely that the players from Bayer Leverkusen will join Real Madrid for the 2024–25 season. Instead, they have him on their shortlist for 2025–26, and the process of moving him has already started.

With other players, Real Madrid can afford this. They are in talks with River Plate to sign Franco Mastantuono in the summer of 2025. This is a part of their plan and a perfectly executed business strategy.

Since he hurt his cruciate ligament in 2022, Real Madrid has been keeping an eye on the 21-year-old playmaker. His rise to the top has been slow, but with Xabi Alonso’s help, he has regained his beauty and scoring ability. This season, he has scored 18 goals and set up 19 others.

But Real Madrid can’t count on its relationship with Leverkusen as much as it does with Borussia Dortmund when it comes to managers. The two teams do get along, though.

The goal for 2025–26 is already set, and Wirtz, who is under contract with the Europa League winners until 2027, is their main target. The deal will be hard, demanding, and expensive.

Preview

Four people Real Madrid bought this summer after Endrick, the famous Brazilian player, who is expected to arrive, there will be Kylian Mbappe, who quit PSG this week. Two more players could be added this summer: Lille defender Lenny Yoro and probably Bayern Munich fullback Alphonso Davies, though neither has been officially added to their list of targets.

Real Madrid knows they can deal with problems in the future, just like they did with Jude Bellingham, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Eduardo Camavinga. Time will tell if they can reach their full potential. Everything will depend though, on whether or not teams with a lot of money, like PSG or Manchester City, enter the race.
