Out of their total 26 attempts at goal, United managed an incredible 13 shots on goal. Barnsley, on the other hand, had just three shots, and Altay Bayindir did not have to intervene in any of them.

Compared to Barnsley’s 34% ball possession, the Red Devils controlled 66% of the ball.

The team led by Erik ten Hag completed 636 passes with an 88% pass accuracy rate. Conversely, Barnsley strings 328 passes at a 76% pass completion rate.

While there were many excellent performers that evening, Eriksen stood out.

Beyond his efforts in front of goal, the Denmark international dominated play in the middle of the park, assisting United in continuing to dominate from beginning to end.

He had accumulated 65 ball touches. With 53 of the 55 passes he attempted, Eriksen found his teammates, finishing with a 96% accuracy rate per pass. He completed two crucial passes.

The midfield player attempted to make contact on four long balls and one cross. With all four of the long balls he pings, he finds his target with success; however, his crossing attempt fails.

He managed two shots on goal, both of which ended in goals.

The 32-year-old started and finished one of two dribbles. He engaged in four ground fights and prevailed on three of them.United’s next assignment is to play Crystal Palace, managed by Oliver Glasner, at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
