Everything changes after new video of Leandro Trossard’s contentious dismissal against Manchester City surfaced.
Michael Oliver gave Trossard a second yellow card for holding up the restart in his team’s crucial Premier League match at the Etihad.
After fouling Bernardo Silva, the already-booked Arsenal winger smashed the ball across the pitch.
Just before halftime, Oliver took a snap decision by sending Trossard out, reducing Arsenal to ten men. 
However, fresh video that has surfaced provides more context for the dismissal and presents an alternative narrative.
The match referee can be seen holding the whistle in his mouth and indicating a free kick when Trossard pulled his leg back to kick the ball, perhaps indicating that the dismissal was excessive.
When Trossard was sent off, the Gunners were up 2-1 thanks to goals from Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori, who had negated Erling Haaland’s opening goal.
Until John Stones levelled in the last seconds, Mikel Arteta’s squad almost put on a defensive clinic in the second half.
After the game, Arteta made the following statement: “We were more effective and ahead 2-1. 
However, there were two instances that were extremely similar to one another but had very different outcomes, which makes you play a game that no one wants to see.
“It seems quite obvious to me. Extremely clear. Hopefully, 100% of people think as they do. I’m not here to pass judgement on what transpired. It’s my responsibility to endure for 55 minutes in the most hostile setting possible while playing football. and work to complete tasks in order to survive. I work on that; I’m not responsible for the rest.”
The Arsenal manager went on, “It’s already the second time it has happened in five games, which is really, really worrying if we want to see the best Premier League,” referencing a similar incident involving Declan Rice against Brighton.
