People have told Jude Bellingham that he could be the “final piece in the puzzle” that makes it possible for Trent Alexander-Arnold to move to Real Madrid this summer.
The right-back for Liverpool has 98 days left until he can talk to foreign teams about signing terms before the end of his contract in the summer.
The vice-captain for Arne Slot hasn’t said anything about his future, saying that it’s “out of his hands” and that he will only “be a Liverpool player this season.”
Madrid has been interested in the 25-year-old for a long time. In the last transfer window, BILD said they were “concretely” interested in him, and The Independent says they have him on their wishlist for next summer.
Betfred talked to a former Liverpool defender named Glen Johnson who said that Alexander-Arnold might finally decide to move after talking to Bellingham.
“The club is 95% of the pull,” Johnson told Betfred. “Of course, if he talks to Jude and Jude tells him how great it is there, then that could make his decision final.”
Jude may be the last piece in the puzzle that will help Trent make his choice, but I think Trent would be willing to do the deal anyway, Jude included.
During the summer, they took a vacation in the United States together. Fans thought that Bellingham was trying to get his England teammate to come with him to Spain.
Alexander-Arnold and Bellingham became good friends when Bellingham joined the England team two years ago. Many people were wondering if Liverpool’s right-back could convince Alexander-Arnold to join Liverpool before he signed with Real Madrid.
They were seen partying together in Los Angeles this summer, and they had a meal at the famous Nobu Malibu.
The “most important thing is always trophies,” Alexander-Arnold said, even though his goal is to become Liverpool’s captain.
So, this first season under Slot can be seen as a key test to see if they can compete for titles as they did under Jurgen Klopp.
Johnson also said, “If you go to Real Madrid, you’ll win trophies.” It’s true. Liverpool isn’t a lock to win prizes, but they have a good chance of doing so.
“Real Madrid is guaranteed to win things, so for Trent, it will never be about money at that level because everyone gets paid very well. If it’s trophies he wants, Real Madrid will get them, but Liverpool fans would love for him to stay and fight for trophies at Anfield.”
Johnson, who is 40 years old, played for Liverpool for six years, from 2009 to 2015, and for England 54 times.
The Reds won the League Cup with him, but it wasn’t a good time for him at Anfield. Teams are better able to keep star players now than they were back then.
