For this reason, he has been mentioned with a move to Real Madrid for a while now, and 2025 could finally be the year that Los Blancos make the move.

A great start to the new season by Wirtz has once again made people think about his future, as several teams in Europe have taken notice.

Maximilian Koch recently said that Real Madrid are not the only ones who are really interested.

The price tag

German news sources say that Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are both interested in signing the Bayer Leverkusen star. In fact, the Bavarians are very interested in getting him to sign.

It is assumed that the transfer fee required to unshackle him from Leverkusen next summer will be around the €100 million mark and not the €150 million his club demands.

Having won the Bundesliga under Xabi Alonso last season, however, Leverkusen now see a long-term project and are unwilling to let go of their star player.

Four games into the season, they are second in the standings and are looking to defend their crown.

So far this season, Wirtz has scored four goals and provided one assist in just four starts and even scored a brace in the UEFA Champions League. Contractually bound to Leverkusen until 2027, the final decision will lie in the player’s park.

As reported yesterday, Arsenal too have entered the race for Wirtz while the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool are also admirers of the German sensation.

So, Real Madrid will have their task cut out if they do intend to sign the youngster from Leverkusen come 2025.
