UPDATE: A key Arsenal player has completed plans to move to Saudi Arabia at the end of the current season

The Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia is said to have started talks with Thomas Partey, a player for Arsenal, about a possible move to the Middle East in 2025. The 31-year-old Ghanaian has been an important player for Mikel Arteta’s team, but as his deal runs out, more and more teams from Europe and Saudi Arabia want to sign him.

Arsenal has become one of the most interesting teams in Europe under Arteta’s direction. Last season, they came close to beating Manchester City to win the Premier League. The Gunners scored 89 points, which is a great number that would have won them the league many years ago.

Even though injuries have slowed them down, Arsenal has had a good start to the season. After a 1-1 draw with Brighton, they recently beat Tottenham 1-0 in the North London Derby, even though they were missing Declan Rice, Martin Ødegaard, and Mikel Merino and their teammates were moved a lot.

Decay is going to be out for a few weeks because he hurt his ankle while playing for Denmark against Denmark in a game, which will put more pressure on other key players to do well in a tough set of games.

This weekend, Arteta will be counting on William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães to play well together in defence as they travel to Manchester City for a very important game. Real Madrid and PSG are among the top teams interested in Saliba, one of Arsenal’s best players, but the Gunners are determined to keep their star defender.

Partey and Jorginho have become even more important in midfield since Ødegaard and Merino are both hurt. Partey has played all four of Arsenal’s first Premier League games this season and has been very important both at home and in Europe.

Even though Partey is very important to Arsenal, rumours say his time at the club is almost up. TEAMtalk says Partey will “almost certainly” leave the Gunners when his deal ends in 2025. The star player who used to play for Atletico Madrid joined Arsenal for £45 million in 2020, but there has been no sign of a deal extension yet.

There are claims that personal terms talks have begun between PIF and Partey to secure his future. The Saudi-backed group wants to make a deal with the playmaker before signing a contract in January 2025. This will allow the player to move for free later that same year. Even though Juventus wants to sign Partey too, it looks like Saudi Arabia is ahead of them.

Partey has played 120 times for Arsenal in all competitions since joining, hitting six goals and setting up four others. Arteta has said in the past that he wants to keep Partey, despite rumours that he is leaving, stressing how important the player is to the team.

“Thomas is a very important player for us,” Arteta said last year, when there were rumours that Thomas would be leaving. “He always says he wants to stay with us when I talk to him.” There isn’t anything there.
