By running into David Beckham, Jude Bellingham disproved the idea that you shouldn’t meet your stars.
The two famous football players got together for a photo shoot for EA Sports’ brand-new FC 25 video game. They are both on the cover of the Ultimate Edition, along with Gianluigi Buffon, Aitana Bonmatí, and Zinedine Zidane. Many people believe that you should never meet your stars, but Bellingham said that Beckham was a very normal person, even though he had done a lot of great things in football.
In the third episode of his YouTube show “Out Of The Floodlights,” Bellingham said, “It’s an honour, you know.” Always remember not to meet your heroes, and Beckham is one of them. When I met him, I thought, “He’s amazing, and he seems like a really nice guy,” even though he’s famous and has done a lot in his work and life.
“He makes me look a little bit uglier, but you can learn to deal with that if it’s on the cover of video games.” Also, Bellingham said it was a dream come true to play with and meet some of the best players he had ever seen.
“Some of your best memories are hanging out with friends around a tiny TV and a few controllers that are worn out from being thrown around the room. You play games with people you never thought you’d meet or play against.” Then all of a sudden I’m on the cover and playing with these other guys.
“It’s really surreal and I’m really grateful that I’ve been given a chance to do it.” He was also heard asking Bellingham’s parents, “What are you feeding the boys?” because he was shocked by how tall Jude and Jobe were.
Before joining the first team in 1992, Beckham worked his way up through Manchester United’s youth school. He went on to win six Premier Leagues, two FA Cups, two Charity Shields, an Intercontinental Cup, and a Champions League with Sir Alex Ferguson.
He went to Real Madrid for about £25 million in 2003 and won the Supercopa de España and La Liga before moving to LA Galaxy in 2007. Beckham moved to Paris Saint-Germain in 2013 after being on loan to AC Milan in 2009 and 2010. He hung up his boots after one season and won the Ligue 1 title for his efforts.
Meanwhile, Bellingham has had a huge rise to fame all by himself. The 21-year-old started his professional journey with Birmingham City in 2019 when he was only 16. After just one season, that season, Borussia Dortmund came calling. When he moved to Germany for an estimated £20 million, the Blues took off his number 22 shirt as a tribute.
Real Madrid bought the player for £89 million in 2023, and he had a great first season at the Bernabeu. Bellingham won La Liga, the Champions League, the Supercopa de España, and the Super Cup in just one year with Real Madrid. He did this in amazing fashion, scoring 23 goals in 42 games across all categories.
He also played for Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions at the recent Euro 2024 event in Germany, where he scored two goals from attacking midfield to help his country make it to the final, where they lost to Spain.
