In the 40th minute, the 19-year-old defender scored his first goal of the season with a long-range shot that gave the home team a well-deserved lead.
No one in the Stadium of Light could say a word about the amazing goal, and they weren’t the only ones who were impressed.
Jude Bellingham, Jobe’s bigger brother and a star player for Real Madrid, was also out of breath when the bad shot went into the top corner of the net.
The England player went on the social media site X to say what he thought about the try and to show his support for it.
When Jude’s brother scored the first goal of the season, he shared a video of the amazing strike from Sky Sports along with three face emojis blowing air.
If you know Jobe, you may know him as the younger brother of England’s center star, but he is now starting to make his own way and leave his own mark.
This season, the England U20 star hasn’t missed a single league game for Regis Le Bris’s team. This builds on his great first season with The Black Cats.
Jobe scored his first goal of the season, and it was a beautiful one.
He picked up a loose ball about 35 yards from the goal and ran down the middle of the pitch. He then let free and hit the ball with his right foot from about 25 yards away, where it went into the net easily.
His touch on the shot couldn’t have been better, and the beautiful shot flew past Derby’s Jacob Widell Zetterstrom in goal.
With his goal against Derby tonight, the 19-year-old now has eight goals in 54 games for the Championship team.
After a short break, Jobe and his team will be back out on Friday to play title contenders Leeds.
Jude’s next game is tomorrow night at 8 p.m., when Real Madrid plays Lille in France in their second Champions League game of the season.
