Latest Arsenal injury news as Jurrien Timber is surprisingly substituted at half-time in the Champions League match between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain

During the halftime of Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League match between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, defender Jurrien Timber was sent off.

The Netherlands international was excellent in the first forty-five minutes of play after starting at right-back in place of Mikel Arteta. In their second league game, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz goals gave the Gunners the lead.

But for the second half, he did not emerge from the dressing room, and Jakub Kiwior took his position. Before halftime, there was no indication of any difficulties, although no specifics about the defender were given.

Timber had an ACL injury during his team debut, which kept him out of action for nearly the whole previous campaign. During the preseason, he rejoined Arteta’s squad, and he has excelled at the Emirates Stadium.

This season, the Dutchman has participated in every Arsenal game. He has not only played right back for Arteta, but left back as well.

Luckily for the Gunners, they maintained their 2-0 advantage and the game’s outcome was unaffected by his absence. PSG’s Joao Neves got the closest from a corner, but they never made an effort to change the result.

Once again, things move quickly for the people of north London. On Saturday afternoon, they host Southampton at home (3pm kickoff), just in front of the team’s second international break of the year.

During his press conference following the game, Arteta is anticipated to deliver an update on Timber.
