Endrick has set yet another Real Madrid record.
On Wednesday, at Lille, the Brazil forward became the youngest player in Champions League history to start a game against the Spanish giant. He was 18 years and 73 days old.
Raúl González, a great player for Real Madrid, set the previous record. He was 18 years, 78 days old when he played Ajax in 1995.
Endrick scored the last goal in Madrid’s 3-1 win over Stuttgart at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium last month, making him the club’s youngest Champions League winner.
Endrick is also the youngest player from outside of Spain to score for Real Madrid in the Spanish league. He scored at the age of 18 years and 35 days, beating Raphael Varane of France, who scored in 2011 at the age of 18 years and 152 days.
Endrick made his first start for Madrid since joining the team. Coming off the bench, he had played in eight games.
Luka Modric took his place in the 57th minute against Lille.
In 2022, Madrid paid Brazilian club Palmeiras more than 40 million euros (about $44 million), plus add-ons, to get Endrick. At the time, he was only 16 years old. He played for Palmeiras until he turned 18 and joined Real Madrid for this season.
