Thomas Partey, an Arsenal midfielder, has been taken out of the Black Stars team for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers because he is injured.

There were two games planned between Ghana and Sudan. The first one was set to happen this Thursday. Without their leader, the Black Stars will take a big hit.

Partey hasn’t been hurt yet this season, even though he only played in 14 Premier League games last year.

No one has said for sure what kind of damage it is, but that information may come out in the next few hours.

After Kai Havertz was also ruled out with a knee injury, he is the second Arsenal player to pull out of international duty.

Ghana say Thomas Partey won’t be playing in the AFCON qualifiers.

A message from the Ghana Football Association’s official website confirmed that Thomas Partey had pulled out.

Thomas Partey, Joseph Painstil, Kingsley Schindler, and Osman Ibrahim will not be able to play in the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan because they got hurt over the weekend. The four players were first added to Coach Otto Addo’s 25-person team for the two games.

Health problems are given as the reason for the midfielder’s disappearance on the website.

“Thomas can’t join the Black Stars because he’s having health problems right now. His club has scheduled more tests for him in the next few days.”

Partey was originally on Otto Addo’s 25-man squad, but it doesn’t look like he will play since several replacements have already been called.

Mikel Arteta wants a key player to stay with the team

Even though Partey’s deal ends in June 2025, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made it clear that he wants him to stay in North London.

“He is a huge player for us, and he shows that every week.” “He’s really fit and off to a great start to the season,” he said.

“He certainly came back from vacation in the best shape he’s ever been, which was also very helpful.”

This is what he needs to do now. The right amount of time has been spent with him, and the team is following through. He is also doing everything he can to stay in the best shape possible.

Arsenal has a lot of games coming up after the international break. They have four Premier League games, an EFL Cup game against Preston, and two Champions League games against Shakhtar Donetsk and Inter Milan.

When the Premier League starts up again on October 19, Mikel Arteta’s team will be away at Bournemouth.
