Kevin De Bruyne celebrated Manchester City’s historic treble-winning season by giving his teammates custom-made silver iPhones.
Before the start of the new Premier League season, the Belgian ace gave away 26 phones that were each worth £5,000.
The high-end items were made by iDesign Gold, one of the best custom mobile makers in the world, and De Bruyne showed them off at a surprise event on Thursday.
The idea for the move came from Lionel Messi’s earlier this year gift of 35 24-carat gold iPhones worth £175,000 to Argentina’s World Cup-winning team and staff.
Pep Guardiola’s team is in talks to form a relationship to make one-of-a-kind iPhones because of De Bruyne’s idea.
The 32-year-old said, “I’ve worked for IDG for a few years.” “I also love their limited edition phones; they’re like works of art!”
City had its best season ever in 2022–23. Guardiola’s team won the Premier League, the Champions League, and the FA Cup, making them only the second English team in history to do so.
The star midfielder made sure that all of the players, along with Guardiola and the club’s owner Sheik Mansour, got an iPhone 14 case with their name and the club’s logo engraved on it.
