Another player from his old team called Judge Bellingham out of the blue and asked him to talk to a sick child in the hospital.
The star player from England is in Finland getting ready for a Nations League game in Helsinki.
They used to play together for England Under-16s, but he took the time to answer a call from Noah Ohio.
Ohio, who plays for the Dutch team Utrecht, was with the Netherlands national team while they were on tours.
When the Dutch team went to a children’s hospital, Ohio asked one child who his favorite player was.
They suggested that they call the Real Madrid star when the kid answered that he was from Bellingham, Ohio.
Bellingham scored a goal in England’s 2-1 loss to Greece on Thursday. He then called Ohio and the child on FaceTime and asked them if they were okay.
Ohio translated and then told the kid to take a picture with the phone raised so he was next to Bellingham, who gave him the thumbs up.
Bellingham, who is 21 years old, often takes the time to help kids. Before the England game against Belgium in March, he gave away his jacket to keep a child in a wheelchair warm.
During a Spanish Cup win over Arandina last season, he also gave a young ballboy a blanket.
Mike Dodds, Bellingham’s old boss at Birmingham, said this about the midfielder: “He’s just a wonderful person. He’s a role model not just for the young kids of Birmingham, but now the whole country.”
“He cares about the people around him and fully understands what they’re going through.” I don’t know how to praise him enough from a personal point of view.
