‘Swelling in right calf’: Arsenal player suffers another major injury ahead of Bournemouth clash

Brazil’s next World Cup qualifier is against Peru, and it’s happening on the road this Tuesday night (local time).

Looks like there’s some worrying news about injuries, as Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli might not be playing.TBR Sports BR shared that Martinelli was hanging out with the national team doctor at the hotel after he mentioned feeling some discomfort in his tendon during training.

So, it turns out the winger has some swelling in his right calf. He’s not sure if he’ll play against Peru tonight since he’s been training with tape on the spot that’s bothering him.

They shouldn’t take a chance with Martinelli against Peru. The Gunners are missing Martin Odegaard due to an ankle issue. Bukayo Saka had a bit of a hamstring scare last week, but he might be good to go for the Bournemouth match.

Not having Martinelli around would really hurt the Gunners. Fingers crossed the club’s management reaches out to the Brazil coaching staff to make sure he doesn’t get put at risk against Peru.

The 23-year-old had a pretty average 2023/24 season by his usual standards, but things have been looking up for him lately. He racked up four goal contributions in just three league games before the break.

He’s getting back to how he played in the 2022/23 season, and Arsenal really can’t afford to be without him for any games. We’d rather he skip playing tonight.

Arsenal is heading to Bournemouth for their next league match on Saturday evening. Raheem Sterling is the go-to guy if Martinelli can’t kick things off.
