With a startling offer that stunned the football world, Saudi Arabia attempted an incredible coup to entice Vinicius Junior away from Real Madrid earlier in the summer.
While the Brazilian winger remained steadfast in his support for Los Blancos, there were rumors that the lucrative transfer distracted him and caused him to struggle early in the season.
Vinicius returns to Saudi Arabia
Now, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) is reportedly back in Saudi Arabia, trying to sign Vinicius as a headline player for their expanding football project. This is according to SPORT.
Though Vinicius has stated that he wants to play for Real Madrid for the final three years of his contract, he hasn’t completely turned down the enormous offer, which is apparently valued at an incredible €1 billion net over five years.

Representatives of Vinicius and Saudi officials recently met in London to refresh the terms and demonstrate the country’s ongoing interest in the forward.
Real Madrid determined to keep hold of Vinicius
Real Madrid, however, remain steadfast and do not wish to get rid of Vinicius anytime soon.
With the forward tied to the club until 2027 and a staggering €1 billion release clause attached to his contract, the club are aware of their strong position in any potential negotiations.
That said, the ultimate decision will be made by the player himself. The forward, after all, could command a considerably higher salary if he chooses to see out his contract until 2027.
In that case, Real Madrid may have no option but to try and sanction his sale well before his contract comes to an end.
Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, remain determined to sign Vinicius. They want to make the Brazilian the face of their project, as they prepare to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
