“Liverpool sent me a private jet to Florence, and I flew with my agent Bartlomiej Bolek. After the flight, we drove up to [Jurgen] Klopp’s house and had a great conversation,” he continued. It was my first experience flying that way. He claimed that I was a hybrid of [Cesc] Fabregas and [Ilkay] Gundogan.

In 2023, Zielinski won the title of Poland’s Footballer of the Year following a spectacular campaign for both his club and nation.

“At his house, we watched a Premier League game on his enormous TV; I had never seen anything like that either. Given that De Laurentiis was unwilling to accept a few boys from La Masia in exchange, Arsenal was closer to realization than Barcelona.

In the end, Zielinski spent a couple seasons with Naples before joining Inter Milan, the current Serie A champions.
