HEAVY WORDS: Declan Rice is getting attention for his words to the referee after Bournemouth defeat

At the conclusion of the match against Bournemouth, Declan Rice, an Arsenal midfielder, reportedly told referee Robert Jones, “every week it’s the same.”

Mikel Arteta’s first loss of the season—in the Premier League as well as in all competitions—came from the Gunners’ unexpected 2-0 loss to Bournemouth.

William Saliba, an Arsenal defender, was sent off in the first half, forcing the Gunners to play for more than an hour with just ten men.

After Leandro Trossard’s contentious red card against Manchester City and Declan Rice’s early season dismissal against Brighton, Arsenal had now collected three red cards this season.

The three red cards the Gunners have received this season have sparked debate and discussion among the supporters, with Arsenal supporters and players believing they have been unfairly singled out by the referees for these decisions.

The players, including Rice and Trossard in the prior games, felt that Saliba did not deserve to be sent out. Rice was heard telling the referee, “Every week it’s the same.”

After the game, though, Rice acknowledged that his teammates’ faults and the circumstances involving their sending off are making life difficult for them.

“In eight games, we’ve kicked ourselves in the foot three times, and we got away with it against Manchester City and at home against Brighton.” Rice stated, “Bournemouth kept pressing and made it 2-0.”

“We need to stop being so naive and accept that having 11 players for 90 minutes is what wins football matches. I’m proud of the players for fighting even with 10 men.”

Theo Walcott, a football pundit and former Arsenal player, brought out a mistake the Gunners committed against Bournemouth as being more costly than Saliba’s red card.

Declan Rice

Does Declan Rice have the right to object to Saliba’s red card versus Bournemouth? The Bournemouth attacker was sent off by Saliba as the final man, so the Gunners have no reason to protest.

The referee made an easy judgment in this instance, even though they may have a case over the red cards shown to Rice and Trossard in the past.

For Arteta and his management group, three red cards in eight Premier League games should be a serious source of worry.

Out of nine possible points, they have only managed to win two of the three matches in which they have had players sent out. They can’t afford to make such errors if they want to fight in the league against Man City.

Referee Howard Webb was involved in a conspiracy concerning Saliba’s red card against Bournemouth, according to football analyst Jamie Carragher.
