Manchester United defeated PAOK by a score of two goals to zero on Thursday night, earning them their first Europa League win of the year.
The outstanding Amad Diallo gave his team all three points with two goals in the second half.
Compared against PAOK, who held a 47% share of the ball, United enjoyed a 53% possession rate. Out of 16 attempts at goal, the Red Devils were able to get four shots on goal.
In contrast, PAOK had eight shots in all, four of which needed Andre Onana’s intervention.
The team led by Ruud van Nistelrooy completed 84% of their 520 passes. With an 82% success rate, the Greek team made 50 fewer passes.
Noussair Mazraoui was one of United’s better players against PAOK. Mazraoui has hardly made a mistake since joining from Bayern Munich in the summer and has improved steadily at Old Trafford.
When moved to the right tonight, he didn’t let down after putting on an incredible show on the left during last week’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
The Moroccan won 83% of the ground duels he engaged in and achieved an amazing 93% pass accuracy while on the field.
He demonstrated his significance during attacking play by directing two of his passes into the final third.
He made 59 touches to the ball.
Mazraoui recovered five balls. He won all four of his tackle attempts.
There was not a single dribble past the 26-year-old.
Additionally, he successfully connected with both of the long balls he attempted to ping to his teammates and finished the one dribble he started.
Before taking a break for the November international break, United’s next game is against Leicester City on Sunday.
