Even though fans are against it, Barcelona’s Board of Directors still wants to sign M.U. star Mason Greenwood.
In January 2022, MU striker Mason Greenwood was arrested by the police for assaulting and sexually abusing his lover Harriet Robson. After a long police investigation, the British player was found not guilty after one and a half years.
Greenwood was on loan to Getafe in the summer of 2023, even though coach Erik ten Hag really wanted to bring him back to the M.U. first team. The people were so against it that ten Hag and the M.U. Board of Directors had to comply.
Greenwood has slowly gotten back to his best in the Getafe shirt. As proof, he scored 5 goals and set up 4 others in 15 games across all categories, a total of 1,081 minutes played.
After seeing Greenwood’s comeback, both Real Madrid and Barcelona have said they want to sign the 2001-born scorer. TalkSPORT says that Manchester United has no plans to bring “Green Wood” back to play at Old Trafford. The deal that the two sides have now is only good until June 2025. In light of this, the “Red Devils” are ready to sell this skilled but disabled player as soon as possible.
When Barcelona fans heard that the home team wanted to buy Greenwood, they took to social media to complain. Adrian Sanchez, a Spanish journalist, says that the owners of the Nou Camp team are still very eager to beat Real in this deal and are even willing to spend 40 million euros.
It is known that Greenwood’s boss, Xavi Hernandez, really likes how he can dribble, finish with both feet, and play a lot of different positions in football (can do well on both wings and as a striker).
Greenwood, Harriet Robson, and their first child went back to Manchester for Christmas to spend time with their family.
